Toes in the Sand

Isn’t returning from vacation the worst? Especially when it wasn’t as long as I would have liked. Though returning to work on Thursday is kind of nice because there are only two days until weekend.

I did have a lovely beach vacation, but unfortunately the South has been colder than usual this year, so it wasn’t quite as warm as I hoped it would be.

On Saturday I left with some friends for a “Spring Break” in Gulf Breeze, Fla. (Pensacola Beach). I packed shorts, tank tops, sundresses and sandals. One pair of jeans I wore for the drive down and a hoodie I figured would come in handy at night.

Although I did get some time in the sun, the breeze on the beach was pretty chilly. For the night we went to dinner on the boardwalk, I wore my sundress from Garden Ridge with a black cardigan and the same Target sandals — I was shivering after the sun went down.

Looking back, if I had the trip to pack for all over again, what would I take? In this combination, the boots would be warmer than the sandals. I would likely still need a cardigan though.

Because it rained on our last full day at the beach, the group decided to go bowling, and I wore something similar to this combination.

Despite less than perfect weather, I had a fun time and enjoyed getting away for a long weekend. The beach is probably my favorite place to visit, so I’m happy to be there any time I can.
