On and on … dancing in September

August 27, 2010

Apologies for not writing until today. I was in Los Angeles from Saturday morning through Wednesday night and am just now getting over my jet-lag. Three hours may not seem like a huge time difference, but when you wake up at 5 a.m., 8 a.m. seems like a long time away. Needless to say, I didn’t get too much sleep, nor were my sartorial options during the trip anything to write home about.

However, I’m currently lusting over these black Frye riding boots. I’m mentally preparing myself for a few serious winter investments — namely boots — and I’ve heard good things about Frye. Honestly, I can’t believe it’s almost September — which means UGA football season and my birthday are upon us! I’m not really sure how that happened, because I feel like it was just yesterday I was dripping sweat on the subway. (Oh wait – it was.) I feel like every new season sneaks up on me, but time really does fly.

I don’t really feel like there’s much my wardrobe is lacking (especially after my shopping spree in Maryland). Sure, there are a few key pieces or accessories I’d like (and I need some tights for fall!), but aside from boots — and a legit winter coat — there’s nothing on my radar right now.

What’s the one item you’re lusting after for fall?

With me, it’s not just one item. It’s like 50 items. I definitely could be in the market for some riding boots…perhaps brown…or a gray if those exist. I’m also looking for some cute fall dresses as well as some colorful statement jewelry. Pretty much, I just want to go on a massive shopping spree.

I would love to go on a major spree, but in looking at my closet, I feel like I only need a few basic (yet expensive) pieces to last until winter. Tights, boots, maybe a few more tops and colored cardigans … OK this list is growing. But objectively speaking, I don’t think it’s too many items.

Frye boots are a great investment choice — if I had more money to put toward them, I definitely would get a pair. I do want to get another pair of boots this fall though. I saw some at Anthro that were dark brown and had bows on them. Love.

I’m also on the hunt for a lightweight jacket in a neutral color, perhaps an anorak. Because it doesn’t get terribly cold in Georgia during the fall months (and part of winter too), I feel like it might be a better investment than a new coat. Plus, I think I’d have a ridiculous amount of fun styling it/wearing belts over it.

I got my lightweight coat at Target – it’s a gray trenchcoat and I can’t wait until it’s cold enough to wear it!

And oh my gosh – Frye boots with bows?! Love!

I bought my first pair of Frye boots on Ruelala on clearance for $89. It was definitely a great investment. The leather is nice and there’s no manmade leather anywhere in them! I think you should check out the bargain sites to see if there are any Frye boots. Also, I see them at DSW sometimes as well. 🙂 Good luck in finding your riding boots.

I’m definitely going to be checking out endless.com, overstock.com, etc… for some good boots. I’d like to try them on a store though, just to be sure they’re comfy enough. I’m pretty much a perfect size 9.5, but sometimes boots can be weird.

I had a pair of Frye boots in the 70’s and loved them!

Hi, Mom! I’m sure you were stylin’ back in the ’70s, but I’m just happy Candies aren’t back in style now!

Frye boots are amazing and although I know I have enough boots already I can’t stop lusting after FRYE ones everytime I lay my eyes on them. 🙂

I just came to visit your blog via IFB and am loving it. 🙂

Just bought a pair of Frye boots – the Billy pull-ons. I am in love. Probably the best $280 I ever spent on boots.

Two hundred eighty?! Oh geez. I’m hoping to stay below $200 by buying mine at a discount website. Can’t wait to see yours!
