They’re like leggings, but not.

November 16, 2010

You know how there’s always (or at the very least, usually) one item in your closet that you can’t live without? It can be dressed up or down, works in multiple weather scenarios and is so comfy you never want to take it off?

I’m using this picture to both show off the pants and as a celebratory shout-out to my marching sister.

Right now, I’m flat out obsessed with my Gap black faux-leggings. I say faux-leggings because they have a zipper, button and front and back pockets, but they’re spandex-y and cotton-y and so comfy they feel like jammies. I went to Indianapolis last weekend to see my baby sister’s last marching competition before she graduates from high school (way to make me feel old) and I didn’t even bother to pack another pair of pants.

I wear them with boots, I wear the with flats. They work in rainstorms and in sunshine. They can be casual or dressy. And I’ll stop swooning now before I get too Dr. Seuss-y.

(Seriously, I wish I had bought them in every color. Best $50 I’ve ever spent.)

So, what item are you currently obsessing over in your closet? Is it as everyday as my beloved black pants, or is it a little more special?

I actually have a very similar pair of pants from Forever 21 that I just purchased last week. I now find I want to wear them as often as possible, most notably to work because they feel like I am wearing PJs. I wore them with black, heeled boots last week and it was totally work appropriate. They are probably one of the few things I will be bringing in my carry on bag to ATL next week for thanksgiving.

Haha. What is it about that perfect multi-use pair of black pants? So amazing.
