Holiday Gift Guide: Little luxuries

November 23, 2010

Happy Fall, folks! It’s Thanksgiving week and that can only mean three things: a short workweek, lots of food and family! (And football.) In the spirit of the season, I’ve compiled a little gift guide to get the creative juices flowing. I’ve already started my holiday shopping but I have several more family members on my list. (And no, little sis, you’re not getting anything featured here. Prepare to be surprised!)

Although my friends and I don’t really exchange gifts, I think these are some lovely picks that are both fun and (fairly) inexpensive.

1. Kate Spade Taxi Mittens, $65: Yes, these are expensive mittens. But seriously, how cute is the little “taxi” embroidered on them? I couldn’t resist.

2. SomeeCards Mug, $14.59: It reads, You’re somewhat useful at work but irreplaceable at happy hour. You may know that Jenny and I share an obsession with SomeeCards and we swapped coffee mug gifts to each other last year to complete many an inside joke.

3. Make Up For Ever Rock For Ever Aqua Eyes, $36: For the Sephora addict among your friends.

4. Forever 21 Bead Satin Zig Zag Clutch, $22.80: I love a good sequin and the gold will stand out among a sea of black. After your cell phone, credit card, ID and lip gloss, what more do you need for a night out?

5. Lululemon Shady Brimmed Beanie, $34: Lululemon can definitely be pricey, but their athletic accessories are fairly affordable. You don’t even need to buy this for a runner friend — the fun print will brighten up dreary winter days.

6. Old Navy Necklaces, $14.50 each: Lots of affordable, fun, festive jewelry at Old Navy right now. Whether you’re looking for a necklace, cocktail ring or bracelet, it will definitely be cheap here.

7. Kate’s Paperie Tie-On Felt Assorted Flowers, $8.99 each: If you’re hitting up a holiday party this season, attach a fun adornment to a wine bottle to some charm to your vino.

8. Kate’s Paperie Cavallini 2011 Daily Planner, $35 each: Help your friends stay organized with these colorful planners. They’re less ubiquitous than a Moleskin and infinitely prettier.

9. Diptyque Berries Candle, mini size, $28: Attending a holiday party and you don’t really know the host? Besides a bottle of wine, a luxurious candle is a go-to gift.

What’s on your own wish list this year? Have you started your holiday shopping?
