Spring frill fix

May 22, 2012

Over the weekend, I celebrated my 25th birthday with some close friends and a cookout. We were celebrating several birthdays, though Saturday was my actual birthday. Despite picking the date when we were all available, there wasn’t much planning, so we ended up shopping for cookout supplies the day of the event.

Luckily I realized earlier in the week that I didn’t have a dress I particularly wanted to wear for the occasion. So I turned to Plato’s Closet. A bunch of dress try-ons later, I walked out with four new (to me) dresses. This is one of them:

Dress: Plato’s Closet (originally from Marshall’s, still had price tag)
Belt: came with dress
Necklace: Plato’s Closet (originally Express)
Sandals: Target
Bracelets: Bought in Cancun
Nail polish: Essie Turquoise & Caicos

I haven’t worn the other dresses yet, but at least one will be making an appearance on my trip to Punta Cana next month (!!!).

This dress had the perfect amount of color and frills, yet relaxed, which is what I had in mind for a spring birthday celebration. Plus, it was $8.

Where do you usually turn when you need a quick outfit for an upcoming occasion?
